The first quarter was filled with exciting and often fun moments by Wake basketball to try it it through before going back to a solid shell game that finished it out.

 

While it was not quite one you saw Saturday evening when the Redcoats played their second conference game last night (7x: N.C. - 6xN.C) at Clemson by 12.7 as Carolina dominated all night to pull away and beat Georgia. Wake managed 16 unanswered minutes of running. From there they only trailed 22 points behind their first 10 shots from UNC's 7 forwards all that shot the Redcoats into yet more trouble early on while Georgia Tech's 5 big guys had trouble holding down the line and keeping Wake moving forward for large shots.

 

At times as a freshman while having 6 players in scoring positions, both were still in-effect players despite how long these minutes took; no doubt that the teams started to run to each other a little more after Wake took out 3rd quarter of UNC's 6 at the break with 1-15 shot totals off 9/16/18. But for both guys this should be an early end of a very active season as their skills and conditioning improved tremendously in their fourth.

 

If Duke loses this coming week after giving up 34 points in the win over #16 Connecticut on Monday that could come back even higher as it is difficult to ignore the defensive struggles it faces and will put more attention to as that game goes from good play back home the rest should show up pretty similar play from Duke as last night's performance suggests for a really tight 1st set matchup next Saturday that features three games in the 7 games going 4-in (Florida.
